Visayan Dance Group performs at the Toongabbie International Food and Music Festival

The Visayan Dance Group was invited to participate in the International Food and Music Festival on Saturday, 23rd April 2011, held at 238 Targo Rd Toongabbie. The event, organized by the Arabic Presbyterian Church as part of their Easter celebration, featured food and music from India, Africa, Sudan, the Middle East, the Philippines and Australia, Along with the Visayan Dance Group, African and Indian singing groups were invited to perform at the festival

The Visayan Dance Group danced the Bulaklakan and Pearly Shells and was given a standing ovation by the audience. The dancers were led by the President of the Visayan Association of Australia Inc. (VAA Inc), Edna Voros. Vivian, Raquel, Josephine, Dian, Nora, Mercy, Mellie, Juliet and Linda completed the ensemble. The group wowed the audience with their colourful costumes and the grace and elegance of their movements.

Guests were entertained by the exciting performances at the festivals and were treated to a variety of delicacies.
