Martin Nievera to perform at Blacktown Workers Club
Martin Nievera, known as “The Concert King” of the Philippine entertainment industry, will be coming to Sydney to perform for Philippine Entertainment Network on Friday, 16th March 2012, in the Diamond Auditorium of the Blacktown Workers Club, 55 Campbell St., Blacktown at 8pm. This is the second time Philippine Entertainment Network has presented Martin in Sydney, the first one being in a sell-out concert at the Sydney Convention Centre, Darling Harbour, in April 2000.
Martin has began his singing career in 1982. By June 1982 he released his first LP, Martin…Take One. He began co-hosting the TV Variety Show Penthouse Live! with Pops Fernandez, who would later become his wife. He recorded his second LP in 1984 entitled The Best Gift. His TV Show Penthouse Live! was later changed to Martin & Pops Twogether, which enjoyed many years of popularity on Philippine TV. His recording Forever led to two sequels, Forever and Return to Forever.
As an actor, Martin has appeared or starred in eleven movies and seven television series and specials. He appeared with the Hawaii Society of Seven and Lani Misalucha at the Flamingo Club in Las Vegas from February 13 through to April 13, 2008. He performed in a pre-Valentine/Post Birthday Concert with Pops Fernandez titled, Missing You on February 6, 2009 at the Araneta Coliseum.
In July 2012, Martin released an album, As Always. In May 2011, his album, Himig ng Damdamin was launched and contained all of his covers.
Just recently, in November 2011, Martin appeared with Sarah Geronimo in a sell-out concert at the Araneta Coliseum.
Being the “Concert King” of the Philippines, with a career that has spanned over two decades, Martin has performed not only in the Philippines but also in many various cities around the world where there are huge Filipino communities.
Filipinos in Sydney and their Australian friends are in for a real entertainment treat when Martin performs at the Blacktown Workers Club on Friday, 16 March 2012, as this concert promises to be another huge success as Martin sings all his famous hits.
As seating is very limited, early bookings and confirmations are strongly advised.
