When an Anglican priest Father Dave ‘Fighting Padre’ Smith set a new world record boxing 120 rounds in Dulwich Hill last Sunday, a Filipino  was one of three referees.

One of three official referees was Jaime Pimentel, of Lidcombe, NSW.

Pimentel refereed the opening two rounds of the world record bid, plus the record-equalling 111th round and the final three rounds to eclipse the world record 120 continuous rounds that would go into the Guinness Book of Records.

In between, Pimentel refereed 40 more rounds, alternating with Australian amateur boxing referee Graham Conroy, who refereed the most number of rounds.
