PASC beauty queens shine in Manila

Two title holders of the Miss Philippines Australia of the PASC (Philippine Australian Sports and Culture, Inc.) has seemingly started to make a name for themselves in the entertainment and glamour world in the Philippines.
Nichole Schmitz, who won the title in 2008 was also crowned Miss Philippines-International during the 2012 Binibining Pilipinas Beauty Pageant held at the refurbished Smart Araneta Coliseum, Manila. She will be the country’s bet during the Miss International Beauty Pageant to be held this late October at Okinawa, Japan. Miss Schmitz is the daughter of Mr. Odo and Mrs. Lailani Schmitz of Campbelltown, NSW.
Since the pageant originated 52 years ago, four contestants from the Philippines has proudly won namely Miss International: Precious Lara Quigaman (2005), Melanie Marquez (1979), Aurora Pijuan (1970) and Gemma Cruz-Araneta (1964). Columbia’s Stella Marquez was the first winner in 1960 who later became the bride of Mr Jorge Araneta of Manila.
Before Miss Schmitz, Maria Rafaela Yunon reigned as Miss Philippines Australia in 1998 and as Miss Philippines World in 2003. She came out as the 4th runner up on the 53rd Miss World Pageant held in China. She now currently lives and works in the USA.
In Hong Kong’s mega modeling and corporate world, Miss Tanya Frances Tankiang , a professional international model, sexy product endorser, corporate lawyer and a young entrepreneur who reigned as Miss PA (Philippine-Australia) in 2003 represented the ACTFA (Australian Capital Territory Filipino Association). She completed her law degree at ANU (Australian National University) , Canberra after a short TV Presenter and Modeling work in Manila. On the other hand, last year’s winner Stephanie Rose has signed a five-year movie contract with Viva Films. She was discovered by Viva while doing public relations work with various industry leaders within the governmental external affairs. She will be managed by Jay Montelibano, who is also the production manager of Willie Revillame.
Revillame hosted the PASC group led by Manny Castillo and treated them to a dinner at his mansion in Tagaytay and a Manila Bay cruise in his 60ft. yacth. Revillame and his Wowowee team appeared as past guests of the Sydney Fiesta Kultura during their last memorable visit in Sydney.
