Australia’s NSW Ministry of Health is warning nursing graduates in the Philippines of bogus emails offering employment opportunities at hospitals in New South Wales.
Emails purportedly from nursing directors at St Vincent’s and Liverpool hospitals have been circulated in the Philippines, offering false employment opportunities to graduate nurses with requests for payment.
A NSW Health spokesperson said recipients of these emails should disregard them and refrain from making payments.
“Nurses hoping to work in Australia should check all job offers carefully and be wary of bogus emails asking for money up-front,” the spokesperson said.
“The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has been informed of the email scam.”
